GRADUATE STUDY

Students who have research interests that are complementary to Dr. Starzyk’s should (ideally) contact her prior to applying (deadline December 15th). Dr. Starzyk can admit students into one of four programs. In order of priority, they are:

  1. Social and Personality Psychology (M.A. or Ph.D.) (most preferred)

  2. Clinical Psychology in some years (M.A. or Ph.D.)

  3. Master of Human Rights

  4. Peace and Conflict Studies Program

Dr. Starzyk is unlikely to accept a graduate student this year. Right now Dr. Starzyk is most interested in admitting students to the Social and Personality Program who are a close research match.

Winnipeg is a lovely place to live. It has a bright cultural and diverse food scene and diverse neighbourhoods. Manitoba also has plenty of outdoor spaces to explore. Located close to the geographic centre (north-south, and west-east) of North America, the summers are hot and the winters are very cold, but there’s lots to do even in winter. Students who are unfamiliar with Winnipeg and Manitoba can find out more about the city by clicking here.

Dr. Starzyk’s students also have an excellent track record of success. Four have held the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and all have held funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
